We love this – a Vincent Van Gogh costume! For more ideas, check out our Halloween-inspired Pinterest board.

A Vincent Van Gogh costume!

Here at P.S. ARTS, we love Halloween.  As artists, we love the opportunity to come up with creative and interesting costumes to wear! But if you’re like us, the fact that Halloween is less than a week away might mean you’re scrambling a little bit for a costume or a kid-friendly event to attend. Never fear – we’ve got your backs. You can check out our Pinterest board for some easy DIY costumes (my personal favorite is the baby Ziggy Stardust costume) and we’ve also scouted out some awesome LA events that are sure to be a blast!

Saturday, October 26: Kids Monster Make-Up Workshop With Hollywood Youth Theatre (Burbank)
Learn the art of creating your favorite “monster” looks for stage or film. Just in time for Halloween. All skill levels welcome!

Saturday, October 26: Little Tokyo Community Halloween Odori/Ondo Costume Party (Downtown)
From 4 to 9pm, Centenary’s 2nd Halloween Odori/Ondo Costume Party will take place in Little Tokyo (300 S. Central Ave. 90013 – corner of Central and 3rd Street.) This is a free community event open to all ages. Trick or Treating for the kids and children games will begin at 4pm. There will be snack and three public Odori/Ondo dance sessions: 1st at 5pm, 2nd at 6:30pm, and 3rd at 8pm. Like last year, Eric Nakata and his Lomo Arigato mobile restaurant featuring his unique Peruvian and Japanese fusion of culinary creations will be at the event.

Sunday, October 27: EEK! At The Greek (Griffith Park)
This family-friendly event at the iconic Greek Theater will feature a 60-piece Symphony In The Glen Orchestra with Maestro Arthur B. Rubinstein. Special guest narrator Stacy Keach will read Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” and there will be trick or treating, crafts, face painting, a costume contest, and more in the front plaza. Tickets are on sale now.

Sunday, October 27: Monster Mash at the Zimmer (Miracle Mile)
It’s time to put your kiddos in their silliest or spookiest costume and create your own googly-eyed monster, explore ooey gooey goodness, discover all the sneaky spiders crawling throughout the museum, and more!

Sunday, October 27: Pumpkin Race at the Pier (Manhattan Beach)
Gather your family and friends and get your little pumpkins to the 22nd Annual World Famous Pumpkin Race Festival.  The Manhattan Beach Pier is transformed into Pumpkinrace Land, where creativity runs wild and cheaters never prosper.  Come in your costumes, enjoy fun activities for kids from tots to teens, make your own Pumpkin Racecar and feel the thrill of competing in the fun-spirited World Famous Pumpkin Race. And don’t forget to stop by our friends at Kids in the Kitchen for some food, crafts and games.

Thursday, October 31: Hollow Trees at the Grove! (The Grove)
Enjoy bluegrass, country, and folk music for kids with The Hollow Trees for this very special Halloween show! “Kids Club at the Grove” presents a weekly dose of fun, featuring favorite local bands and acts. Shows are at 11am and 12pm.

Saturday, November 2: LA Day Of The Dead (Hollywood Forever Cemetery)
The 14th Annual “Dia de Los Muertos” at Hollywood Forever will take place from noon until midnight. The mainstage headliner will be legendary vocalist and former lead singer of the bands Caifanes and Jaguares, Saul Hernandez. Saul Hernandez creates music that reflects the present and is rooted in the most telluric past. The theme for this year’s celebration is El Magico Mundo de Los Alebrijes – The Magical World of Alebrijes. Alebrijes are brightly colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures. The first alebrijes, along with use of the term, originated with Pedro Linares.

Saturday, November 2: Celebration of Dia de Los Muertos at 24th Street Theatre (Near Downtown)
Celebrate the joyous tradition of Mexico’s Day of the Dead at 24th Street with food, music, dance, and a graveyard!
